Just three engines in the Madison yard this pleasant fall afternoon
Title:  Just three engines in the Madison yard this pleasant fall afternoon
Description:  The 3947 has finally received its red and gray after several years roaming the WSOR system in shabby ex-UP yellow. Watco's take on the scheme does away with the thin chevron stripes, and moves the single fat gray chevron from the long hood to the short hood. 4174 was the WSOR 4005.

What's wrong with this picture?
Title:  What's wrong with this picture?
Description:  A series of pleasant April days with highs in the 60s and even 70s had the spring greenup nicely underway...then we were rudely slapped in the face with low 30s and snow on Saturday, April 27th! Fortunately, accumulations were minimal and generally not on the too-warm pavement. Still, what happened to the beautiful spring landscape I was shooting trains in just the day before?

T003 dropping their train at the west switch to the Rotamer siding
Title:  T003 dropping their train at the west switch to the Rotamer siding
Description:  They'll pick up the cut of covered hoppers there. This siding was built in 2015, stretching from Rotamer Road to Milton-Harmony Town Line Road. The Madison/Horicon trains often leave cars for each other here, freeing up space in the yard and reducing the amount of time road trains have to spend there.

Crossing the Rock with one
Title:  Crossing the Rock with one
Description:  Chase continued from the "WSOR Madison Subdivision" album. I'm used to seeing the T004 make multiple set-outs at Milton and the Rotamer siding, but still have plenty of train left to take through Janesville and onto the J-line toward Chicago. Been awhile since I saw them terminate at the yard.

T004 comes around the wye and enters the Fox Lake Sub
Title:  T004 comes around the wye and enters the Fox Lake Sub
Description:  I'd thought the five-unit power move I'd seen coming into town from the north earlier was T004, so I was surprised to hear this train announce their approach to town. I can't imagine 4174 was their only power out of Horicon, but 4180 and 4170 were picked up from the fuel ramp here in Janesville.

Title:  Another red and gray trio takes T003 on its evening run to Horicon
Description:  While waiting on T004 at Avalon, I heard this train getting their Madison and Waukesha Sub warrants. After giving up on T004 getting going, I drove up here just in time to hear them line the remote wye switch to head east toward Waukesha.
