CP 6644 (D-Day Commemorative Unit) West, empty ethanol train 651  Contributor's Pick!
Birdsey St. at 1512. The number is a reference to the date of "D-Day" (for those who slept through history class, the day the Allies landed at Normandy in occupied France, generally considered the turning point of World War II in Europe), June 6, 1944. The paint scheme is based on that of the RCAF "Spitfire" planes used there. For the commemorative numbering, this engine was moved from its ordinary roster position of 7024. The other four military tribute SD70ACUs are numbered normally 7020-23. The next unit, 7025, and up are in the standard red paint with Golden Beaver logo.
