Toooooooot! Toot!
This is a popular spot to shoot this 16" gauge light railway, as they come down the back stretch on the return to the Little Amerricka park grounds. A slight uphill grade toward the tunnel makes for some stack talk from the steam locomotives, and there's always a whistle salute! The four tracks here belie the simple nature of the Whiskey River Railway's layout. Train is on the inbound main, to the right is the old outbound main (which, like the inbound main, goes through the tunnel), branching off of it is the "storage tunnel" lead (where the coaches are parked when not in use), then to the far right is the current outbound main. Trains pass through here after having gone through the Whistle Stop Campground loop (opened in 2017), then out to the farm fields before looping back to the amusement park.
