Album Info:Visits to the Badger State's far western boundary, and a little bit beyond. The BNSF ex-BN, ex-ex CB&Q line which runs north-south in Wisconsin is actually part of an east-west Chicago-Twin Cities mainline. It is one of the busiest rail lines in southern Wisconsin with about 40 daily trains.

Description:  After my day in Winona, I was heading to my next overnight stop and passed over East Winona Siding where an eastbound was sitting. Its head end wasn't visible from Highway 35 but I figured its presence meant a westbound was on the way, and sure enough I didn't have to wait long at Fountain City!

Description:  The historic (1931) WIS-82/IA-9 Black Hawk Bridge is in the background. It's the only highway crossing along the Mississippi between Prairie du Chien and La Crosse. If I wanted leaders like this, I'd have stayed on the other side of the river!
