WAMX 4219 hauls the L863 across the Lake Wisconsin bridge
Title:  WAMX 4219 hauls the L863 across the Lake Wisconsin bridge
Description:  To my surprise, this unit was painted into Watco's new version of the WSOR scheme from their "Yellow Bonnet" scheme sometime in the late fall of 2017. My long-hood-foward curse on this line continues. Any time I catch a single-engine train, it's always LHF no matter which way it's going.

Four weeks since we were last here...
Title:  Four weeks since we were last here...
Description:  ...another sunny Friday L863 trundles south across the Lake Wisconsin bridge, but the scene is much different. An abrupt transition from much below normal to much above normal temperatures and excessive rainfall resulted in an explosion of greenery in early May.

Nice day on the water
Title:  Nice day on the water
Description:  L469 crosses the short bridge over the Yahara River's channel between Lake Waubesa and Upper Mud Lake. This bridge could previously be only glimpsed from the Beltline Highway in Madison. It was inaccessible from public property until the opening of the new Lower Yahara River Trail boardwalk last August.

A five-headed 281 blasts west approaching Salisbury Road
Title:  A five-headed 281 blasts west approaching Salisbury Road
Description:  Ho-hum leader, but the 2nd through 4th units are quite interesting. It's relatively unusual to see BNSF power on this line, and when it does show up it's usually on unit trains of some sort. The 4th unit is BNSF 740, one of the only three 700-series Dash 9s delivered in HII paint instead of the red and silver "faux Warbonnet" with BNSF lettering.

Title:  I gotta wear shades...
Description:  The correct designation for these units, "Rebuilt GE-AC4400CWM" is not available to select in the menu at present time. They are not AC44C6Ms, which are NS units rebuilt from standard cab Dash 9s. These are resplendent in CP's reintroduced "Golden Beaver" scheme, which has yet to acquire its standard layer of oil and grime!

WAMX 4223 looks sharp in the autumn evening light as the T3 power rolls out of the fuel ramp
Title:  WAMX 4223 looks sharp in the autumn evening light as the T3 power rolls out of the fuel ramp
Description:  Ever wonder what a WSOR SD45 would look like? Wonder no more! Although, 4223 has been remotored with a 16-cylinder, 3K HP 645 to become the functional equivalent of an SD40-2. The unit spent about a year in service on the WSOR in its ex-CIT modified UP scheme (red/white nose chevrons). I'm fond of that scheme and would have liked to catch it then, but I gotta say this looks better!
