CP 8709 leads eastbound ethanol train 650 |
Description: |
This is one of CP's first order of GEVOs, on the rails now since 2005. The nose was replaced following a fiery grade crossing accident with a propane truck at Callaway, MN in early 2016, thus why it looks much cleaner than the rest of the locomotive. |

CP 8709 again |
Description: |
One of the first batch of GEVOs delivered to CP in the mid-2000s, they were the newest and cleanest power out there when I first took up railfanning although I was never fond of this bland text-only "CANADIAN PACIFIC" red paint scheme that came on CP's. They've reintroduced the Golden Beaver on repaints starting in late 2017, but to my knowledge all the GEVOs remain in the as-delivered scheme. |
