Last time I saw one of these leading any train...March 2008. Last time I saw one leading a manifest - October 2007. These units have an interesting history, having been built as CN SD40s, then sold to KCS, then sold to Alstom and leased back to CN, which operates them under the reporting marks of their U.S. subsidiary Grand Trunk Western! |

EMD 645s sounding great! These units were stored following the economic crash of late 2008 and I thought they were gone for good, until they began to re-appear last summer. Most have had the CN logos on the long hood blotted out, but trailing unit 5944 has not. |
