I got my wish when it was assigned to Portage about six weeks ago and started appearing on this train, but it seemed like every time I got a heads up that it was leading, I had something else going on and couldn't catch it. Finally changed that today. |

I would have liked to spend my afternoon chasing the (relatively) massive train along the branch line, but I had to finish my Christmas shopping. After getting out of the mall, I raced north on US Highway 51 for one more runby. After heavy snow just before Halloween and through much of early November, there's scarcely a trace on the ground and none in the forecast in time for a white Christmas this year. |

Last Friday I grumbled that this unit wasn't leading southbound, and it was dark by the time they departed back north for Portage. Well, the power set was wyed sometime in the intervening week, so I got my wish! This time the local is light engine and will pick up a few cars off the WSOR interchange. There's also a string of over 100 sand empties for interchange to CP sitting in their yard, but this crew will leave those be. They were eventually picked up by a solo AC4400CW which came down on Sunday the 9th. |
