Description:  This class O1a Mikado is the centerpiece of the small but well-maintained railroad museum based out of the Mendota Amtrak station. All the connecting rods and valve gear are intact too, instead of being torched off like so many locomotives.

Description:  Milwaukee Road had a branch line that went north from Oglesby through Mendota and joined the CB&Q (later BN, now BNSF) near Steward. Milwaukee Road used the Burlington tracks through Rochelle to Flagg Center, where they branched off once again toward Davis Junction and Rockford (still in use by IR and CP/formerly ICE and earlier IMRL).
