I was pleasantly surprised to find out that CP is giving at least a few of their SD40-2s the new Golden Beaver dip, along with PTC capability that makes them able to lead on U.S. mainlines once again. Also notice the DMVW car first up in the train, the previous day a westbound CP manifest had three ex-CN SD60Fs heading for service on that road. |

Labor Day M&P returns north (RR west) |
Description: |
Caught this by chance while on my way from seeing Pat McCurdy's show at Lucky's Bar in Okee, to Columbus to catch No. 7 with 161 (new 50th Anniversary Phase I heritage unit) leading. This latter part ended up not happening, as the train struck a vehicle near Caledonia and was heavily delayed (fortunately minimal damage to 161, and the moronic driver who went around the gates in front of a 79 MPH Amtrak train somehow cheated Darwin). |

Description: |
Several of these cuts (about 100 cars each) have been brought out of storage on the WSOR Sauk branch and moved north on the CP over the last few months. However, they usually send down 1 or 2 big widecab units (often foreign power, such as BNSF, NS or CN) light to retrieve them, rather than having the regular local do it. |

9WWA power sandwiched between cuts of Herzog empties |
Description: |
They split the train, pulled the first half in, ran the power around, then pulled it back out, shoved it out of the way on the main west (photo left) of the switch, then pulled the other half in. This must be so they can get one section of the train on each of the two loading tracks, and already have the power run around to the east end for the trip back (since there are no additional tracks in the Pit). |
