I had been certain that the 3928 was a one-off for the 35th Anniversary, and that the painting of locomotives in the venerable WSOR red and gray would cease under Watco ownership. I was pleasantly surprised to be proven wrong! |

T006 returning to the Waukesha Sub main after working the industrial park |
Description: |
This spur was constructed in 2004 to serve Cargill and United Ethanol. In all my years railfanning, I'd never seen a train down here before. Surprisingly, the work is being done by T006 (the Madison-Janesville train) rather than T003 or T004, which pass by here as part of their regular route to/from Horicon via Waukesha. |

This was a busy little stretch of railroad this day; with T006 coming over from the Madison side to switch, then T004 coming from Horicon, now T003 going to Horicon! They're gonna need to install CTC at this rate! Note the U.S. flag stuck in 4182's sand hatch. |

Rare(ish) Mileage |
Description: |
This T004 surprised me again by taking their cut of ballast hoppers straight across the top leg of the wye connecting the Waukesha Sub to the Madison Sub; where historically it hasn't been too common to see train movements during the WSOR era (with everything going to/from Janesville). I'm not sure what their plan was, since with light rapidly fading I headed for home after this. |
